The latest update of Ranabaali has sparked discussions among moviegoers, with many drawing comparisons to the much-talked-about casting of Mike Tyson in Liger. In Liger, Tyson’s role ultimately felt unnecessary and failed to make the impact audiences had expected.
Now, Ranabaali features Arnold Vosloo as a key antagonist, leading some fans to recall that earlier disappointment. However, there is also a strong sense of optimism this time around.
Director Rahul Sankrityan has previously demonstrated his ability to handle period drama like Shyam singha roy well and character-driven narratives effectively, raising expectations that Arnold’s role will be meaningfully integrated into the story rather than serving as a mere promotional attraction.
Many believe that, unlike Liger, where the international casting appeared forced, Ranabaali’s colonial-era setting naturally accommodates a foreign antagonist.
If Rahul Sankrityan successfully weaves Arnold’s character into the narrative, the role could become one of the film’s biggest strengths rather than a distraction.
As a result, while the casting may remind audiences of the Liger experience, there is considerably more confidence that Ranabaali will utilize its villain far more effectively.
