Lenin To Get Another Good Weekend?

Despite opening to decent word of mouth and mixed reviews, Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin enjoyed a strong first weekend at the box office, giving Akhil one of the biggest openings of his career.

While the film witnessed the usual drop in collections from monday, trade circles say the hold has been fairly decent considering the strong weekend numbers. The occupancy levels in several key centers in Telugu states have remained steady, and the film continues to attract the masses.

One of the biggest advantages for Lenin is the lack of major competition. This week does not feature any big-ticket releases and films from the previous week, Rao Bahadur and Naga Bandham have slowed down considerably.

As a result, Lenin is expected to retain a majority of its screens across the Telugu states and overseas markets. If Lenin can continue its reasonable hold until Friday, it has a strong chance of posting good numbers in its second weekend.

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin has given a ray of hope to Akhil and Bhagyashri Borse who scored the first ever clean hit of their careers. All eyes are now on the second weekend, which could play a crucial role in determining how far the film ultimately goes at the box office.
