Where Is Hanuman in Ramayana Trailer?

The much awaited Ramayana trailer has finally arrived and received a decent response overall. While the visuals and VFX have drawn mixed reactions, the performance glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana have won appreciation, emerging as the biggest positives from the trailer.

The biggest surprise is the absence of Sunny Deol’s Hanuman. Considering Hanuman is one of the most celebrated and emotionally powerful characters in the epic, fans expected at least a glimpse of him in the theatrical trailer.

Instead, the trailer focuses mainly on Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama, Sai Pallavi’s Sita and Yash’s Ravana. The conflict between Rama and Ravana takes center stage, while Hanuman is nowhere to be seen despite the enormous curiosity surrounding Sunny Deol’s portrayal.

There could be a strong reason behind this decision. The makers may have intentionally kept Hanuman under wraps to preserve the excitement. If the character is introduced only towards the end of the first part, the impact on the big screen could be far more rewarding than revealing him in the trailer itself.

Reports already suggest that the major war episodes are reserved for the second part. That naturally gives Hanuman a much larger role in the overall story. Saving his first appearance for the film rather than the promotional material could prove to be a smart creative move.

Kajal Aggarwal, who plays Mandodari, is another notable omission from the trailer. However, she had earlier clarified that hers is a limited role, making her absence less surprising than Hanuman’s.

For now, all eyes are on Sunny Deol’s grand entry. If the makers have indeed hidden Hanuman to deliver a memorable first on screen introduction, it could become one of the biggest whistle worthy moments of Ramayana.
