The success of Chennai Love Story has brought immense appreciation not only for its performances but also for debut director Ravi Namburi. Story writer and producer Sai Rajesh, who backed the project along with SKN, opened up about why he never felt the need to interfere with Ravi’s work after the film went on floors. The emotional love story has already crossed the ₹50 crore Gross mark and continues to enjoy a successful theatrical run.

Sai Rajesh revealed that he initially planned only to produce the film as he was occupied with the Hindi remake of Baby. Once Ravi Namburi took charge as director, he quickly gained everyone’s confidence through his clarity and execution. According to Sai Rajesh, the film gradually became Ravi’s vision, and he was happy to let the debutant lead the project without unnecessary interference.

Talking about Ravi Namburi, Sai Rajesh said, “Once I saw certain scenes during the shoot, I realised Ravi didn’t need my involvement as a director. I felt my contribution was only needed during the music stage. After watching the interval sequence, I genuinely felt he had made the film even better than I would have. We released Chennai Love Story with complete confidence. While it takes time for producers to receive their actual theatrical returns, on paper we are currently in a profitable position.”

The appreciation coming Ravi Namburi’s way has become one of the biggest talking points after the film’s release. With Chennai Love Story emerging as a major box office success, the debut filmmaker has announced his arrival in Telugu cinema, while Sai Rajesh’s public endorsement further reflects the confidence he has in Ravi’s filmmaking abilities.
