A struggling actress from Bollywood named Sulagna Chatterjee has taken to Twitter other day to explain how actors/actress struggle during lockdown times as they could neither call themselves migrant workers nor could make huge money these times.
“More than the corporate working middle-class people, we suffer a lot because we don’t have either monthly salaries or any provident funds that come to rescue,” she says, holding the placards with that message in a video. As they are not working from the last two months, the actress stated that previous payments are struck at offices, while they don’t have any current income as well.
“As we are not called migrant labourers we can’t go back to our villages/towns and at the same time, we have to face the hustle of living in an expensive city with exuberant lifestyle” she says. “We stand for every cause, but nobody stands for us” she added, leaving a lot of impact on the viewers. While we could understand the plight of such actors, regarding which Film Producers and Actors Associations should do something.
