Natural Star Nani’s intense action entertainer The Paradise has finally locked September 24 as its arrival date. The team addressed the media for the first time and made it clear that they are now completely focused on bringing the ambitious film to theatres on time.
Director Srikanth Odela revealed the basic storyline of The Paradise, calling it a revolutionary emotional film rather than merely another intense action drama. “The story centres on the relationship between a mother and her son and also chronicles the life and struggles of a community. The film is about people who gave everything for their country but were eventually denied a sense of belonging within it, leading them to fight back.”
He believes audiences should discover that story inside the theatre. In fact, Srikanth personally feels that a film like The Paradise can benefit from having no trailer because the surprise and impact of the theatrical experience would be greater.
Nani also confirmed the decision. “The Paradise will not have a trailer, primarily because of the severe time constraints surrounding the film. The team is working round the clock to finish everything required before September 24. The delay certainly created plenty of anxiety. Yet, every promotional glimpse, teaser and song received a huge response, giving us the feeling that the film was somehow destined to reach audiences at the right time.”
The actor has special praise for Srikanth’s musical sensibilities. “Srikanth has a remarkable ear for music and knows exactly what kind of voice a song needs. He recorded a voice and is about to send it to Anirudh. I cannot anticipate what kind of theatrical impact it is going to create. Srikanth is a mad guy who does not allow conventional boundaries to dictate his creative decisions. While social media has made filmmakers increasingly conscious of limitations, Srikanth simply follows what he believes is right. That uncompromising nature is one of his biggest strengths.”
Nani admitted that the creative objective was achieved, but the team struggled with managing the schedule. He recalled Srikanth apologizing and openly admitting his failure in time management. “One day, Srikanth came to me and apologised. He said, ‘I failed at time management. I don’t know how to learn it. You know Rajamouli, right? I’ll join him as an assistant director.’ We all want to learn, but many people don’t realise it. Srikanth had that realisation, and I felt proud of him.”
Nani says recreating an authentic Telangana environment was another major challenge. “Srikanth and his team took great care in every aspect. More than the dances, executing the complicated action sequences with the Jadalu was extremely challenging.”
He also made some interesting remarks about Mohan Babu. “Mohan Babu has become Srikanth Odela’s new favourite. “There were many rumours about him. But once you travel with him, you will fall in love with him. He has a very childlike heart.”
Nani also made it clear that The Paradise is not just about violence. “After watching the teaser, many people are assuming that The Paradise is an extremely violent film. But The Paradise is actually a beautiful mother-and-son story. More than the violence, you will feel the emotion behind that violence.”
The team also revealed that the final runtime of The Paradise is locked at 2 hours and 49 minutes.
