Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is excited about the upcoming international airport in his hometown Warangal. The filmmaker thanked Telangana CM Revanth Reddy for taking the initiative to bring an international airport to the city.
Sandeep, who hails from Warangal, said he is happy to see a long-awaited dream finally moving towards reality. He also suggested two names for the new airport: Rudrama International Airport (RIA) and Kakatiya International Airport (KIA). He said either name would reflect the history and spirit of the Warangal region.
Revanth Reddy responded to Sandeep Vanga’s post and appreciated his suggestion, saying “That’s the spirit.” Revanth’s response has added more attention to Vanga’s airport name suggestions.
Warangal already has an airport, but it has remained largely inactive and is too small for regular commercial operations. With the Centre giving the green signal for an international airport, the Telangana government has also taken up additional land acquisition.
The groundwork is now moving ahead and tenders for the airport construction are expected to be called soon. Construction could begin next year if the process moves as planned.
For Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the development is more than just an airport project. It is the realization of a long-awaited dream for his hometown.
