Watch: Kayadu Lohar On Her Challenging Role In The Paradise

Kayadu Lohar is currently going through a busy phase in her career, with multiple releases across languages. Ahead of The Paradise release, the actress sat down for an exclusive conversation with Gulte Pro’s Ram Venkat Srikar and spoke about her journey, the impact of Dragon and the challenges of working on The Paradise.

Kayadu admitted that the last 16 to 17 months have been extremely tiring but also something she had always dreamed of. She said the response to Dragon felt unreal, especially after seeing the craze around her character online. She was shooting an advertisement soon after the release and could only watch the reactions through videos, comments and edits.

The actress also opened up about missing her hometown Pune amid her hectic schedule. Kayadu said she misses her parents, friends and pets and would eventually love to return to her village, spend time with her family and animals, and maintain a quieter life away from the rush of the city.

Talking about The Paradise, Kayadu revealed that playing Subalakshmi was a major challenge because the character is completely different from her personality. She said the role required her to understand the character’s world and get comfortable in her skin. The actress also admitted that speaking Telugu was stressful at times, especially because she wanted to ensure that every dialogue and emotion felt genuine.

Kayadu shared interesting details about her working experience with director Srikanth Odela. According to her, the filmmaker is unpredictable and does not always follow a fixed plan on set. Their workshops focused mainly on building Subalakshmi’s world and backstory, while the dialogues were often given to her shortly before the shot.

The actress also spoke about her upcoming collaborations and said she does not want to be limited to being a commercial heroine or star. Kayadu expressed her desire to earn recognition as an actor and artist by working with filmmakers who have something meaningful to say through their stories. She believes understanding human emotions and behaviour is an important part of her craft.

Kayadu feels The Paradise can bring a good balance between commercial cinema and a film that has something to offer the audience. With the film arriving on September 24, she is hoping audiences will notice the effort behind her character and see her beyond the usual commercial heroine image.
