Starting with Vakeel Saab’s first look poster, almost all the promotional materials, including the songs and the teaser, received a strong mixed response. Critics and feminists aren’t happy with the way Vakeel Saab’s makers are sidelining the film’s leading ladies to unnecessary highlight Pawan’s heroism in all the promotional materials.

Now, Vakeel Saab’s recently released Satyameva Jayate song too is being trolled mercilessly by netizens on social media. The song is a full-on heroic tribute to Pawan Kalyan’s lawyer character. Even though a lawyer is just like any other common citizen in the society, Pawan’s character in the movie has been hailed as a ‘Messiah’, with certain words in the lyrics calling him a ‘protector’ and a ‘saviour’.

Particularly, the line ‘Gelipinchu Ghanudu’, with Pawan leading a large crowd in the backdrop, is being trolled with netizens coming up with hilarious memes. “He can’t win (in elections), but claims he’ll ensure people’s victory,” says one viral meme. Well, it looks like the superficial heroism the makers are trying to infuse into Pawan’s lawyer role is getting backfired.

Meanwhile, die-hard Pawan fans defend the makers’ promotional strategy, saying that Pawan’s stardom will help a serious, female-centric courtroom drama like Vakeel Saab attract more audiences to theaters. Fans even opine that Vakeel Saab won’t click in Telugu if the makers stick to its Bollywood original Pink’s story and promotional strategy.
