The second wave of coronavirus has hit India hard and we are now witnessing about one lakh cases every day. In these adverse situations, many states are bringing back the lockdown rules and regulations. Already, a few states announced weekend lockdown and night curfew in multiple areas. The situation is concerning in Telangana as well. Thus, the High Court of Telangana ordered the government to come up with its action plan of containing the second wave of COVID-19.
According to the sources, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will most likely hold a press conference either tomorrow or the day after to reveal the new guidelines for the citizens. It is being heard that the 50% occupancy rule will be brought back in theatres starting from April 15. This will affect a few big releases that are lined up for the next three weeks.
Shekhar Kammula’s Love Story is slated for release on April 16. Now, they are planning to take a decision on the release depending on the government’s guidelines. If Love Story gets postponed, other films like Nani’s Tuck Jagadish and Rana Daggubati’s Virata Parvam may also get postponed. The restrictions may continue till April 30th and thus, these two films may also get pushed. On the flip side, the decision may not adversely affect this week’s release of Vakeel Saab. Even if the 50% rule gets implemented, people will have only Vakeel Saab to watch in theatres for the next three weeks and it may not completely dent the collections of it.
