While we are coming across many people dying due to COVID-19 every day, there are some stories that also inspire us and bring a smile to our faces. One such incident happened in Hyderabad where an infant became the youngest COVID survivor in the city.
If we get into the story, a pregnant lady who resides in Hyderabad found positive for the coronavirus last month. As she was suffering from severe symptoms, she was immediately admitted to the KIMS hospital in Kondapur. She was put on a ventilator. On April 17, she gave birth to a premature baby who weighed only 1000 gms.
The baby tested negative on the day of her birth. After a week, her oxygen levels dropped. Immediately, doctors found that she tested positive for the virus. The weight also dropped to 920 gms. Under the supervision of senior consultant, Neonatologist, and Pediatrics clinical director Dr. Aparna, the baby was shifted to COVID isolation ICU.
The doctors took special care of the baby and provided her with advanced treatments. After staying almost 30 days under their supervision, the baby became healthy and is now weighing around 1500 gms. Even the mother tested negative and both of them were safely discharged from the hospital.
