Just a few days ago, the news came in that Kareena Kapoor Khan had asked for a whopping Rs 12 crores for the upcoming mythological period saga as Sita in Alaukik Desai’s film. From 6-8 crores to 12 crores, it is certain that the actress remuneration sees a plunge and thereby, leaving everyone in shock. The film is said to be a Bollywood recreation of the Hindu epic, Ramayana. But the colossal demand by the actress did not go well with netizens, including her fans. The fuming cine-goers expressed outrage on Twitter while demanding to Boycott Kareena with a trending hashtag.

Twitteratti argued that Kareena is hurting religious sentiments by asking huge amounts to play Sita. They called her move to be ‘pathetic’ and ‘against humanity. #BoycottKareenaKhan is trending on Twitter with users slamming the actress. One of the users tweeted, “Remember the way she arrogantly replied to the public that it’s you idiots who make us star, Don’t watch my flims, I don’t care. Let’s not watch such unworthy people . She playing in the mythological film is disgusting #BoycottKareenaKhan.”

Another said, “This role cannot be played by an actress who doesn’t respect Hindu God’s. #BoycottKareenaKhan.” “She doesn’t deserve to play the role of Mata Sita! So We just #BoycottKareenaKhan”. The anger drove in more when a section of people embroiled in an unpleasant argument of her marrying a Muslim. They involved Kareena’s husband and actor Saif Ali Khan and alleged that earlier Saif had hurt Hindu sentiments with Tandav, and now Kareena is allegedly following in his footsteps.

The story and screenplay of the film will be penned by Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame and he had reportedly approached Kareena a few days ago, citing her role as Sita. Things turned hideous on Twitter by Hindu groups objecting to her involvement further. On the other hand, it is being heard that the filmmakers are reconsidering their decision after Kareena demanded a massive amount. The makers are reportedly looking to change the actress, however, Kareena still remains the first choice. On the work front, Kareena has Veere Di Wedding 2 and Hansal Mehta’s film in the kitty.
