Sai Dharam Tej’s horror thriller Virupaksha turned out to be a blockbuster in Telugu. Upon its release, the film opened to unanimous positive reviews and talk from critics and audiences alike. Seeing the craze and humongous revenue and blockbuster talk, the makers have decided to release the film in other languages.
The makers did release Virupaksha in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam and promoted it in all these markets. The film released on 5th May in these markets, failed to take off. Though the influencers in all these markets pushed so hard, Virupaksha couldn’t create any buzz. In Hindi, the film fell short of its expectations. At Pan India level, Virupaksha is a damp squib.
What Karthikeya 2 and Kantara did in Hindi and other languages, Virupaksha couldn’t create a storm. Virupaksha faced stiff competition from The Kerala Files and Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Overall, the Pan India audience poured cold water on the hopes of the Virupaksha team.
