An Indian student was killed in a hit-and-run crash in New York on Saturday morning.
Sampada Edulla (24) was trying to cross Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road when a vehicle struck her around 6:20 am. Sampada belonged to Lake Grove.
Police closed off the intersection between Hallock Road and East Moriches Road for hours as they collected evidence at the scene.
Police are still looking for the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1800-220-TIPS.
