US President Donald Trump took to X and announced that he has signed an Executive Order to launch the first-ever self-deportation program. “Illegal aliens who stay in America face punishments, including—sudden deportation, in a place and manner solely of our discretion. To all illegal aliens: Book your free flight right now!,” Trump posted on X.
Earlier this week, as part of the Project Homecoming initiative, the Trump administration announced $1,000 to all illegal and unauthorized immigrants who wish to voluntarily apply for self-deportation with the help of the federal government and financial support.
If found illegally residing in the USA, immigrants face enforcement, hefty penalties, prison time and incarceration, confiscation of all property, garnishment of all wages, and sudden deportation in a place and manner solely of the government’s discretion. According to reports, close to 1,000 immigrants have signed up to avail the “offer.”
The Trump administration also plans to push the ‘self-deportation’ message in the proclamation. While taking office in January, President Trump had pledged to deport millions of illegal immigrants. So far, thousands of such people hailing from India, Mexico, China, and other Asian and Islamic countries have been suddenly sent back on special flights.
However, advocacy groups in the USA criticized the Trump government’s $1,000 stipend offer and advised illegal migrants to consult with an attorney. Trump had announced that he would deploy 20,000 officers to ensure forceful deportation of illegal immigrants.
