Pure Irony: Pak Voted for Trump, Faced a Freeze from USA

The peculiar case of Pakistan has become a laughing stock globally as the country has been added to the list of countries that are frozen by the United States for visa issuance.

However, the series of events leading to this is what adds a comical angle to the story as Pakistan has been on the receiving end despite supporting Donald Trump whenever prompted.

Earlier, Pakistan had supported Donald Trump’s pursuit of the Nobel peace prize by voting in his favour and even labelling him as a decisive diplomat in hour of crisis. They pushed his case in the recent Nobel peace prize program, which Trump anyway ended up losing.

However, despite trying to butter Donald Trump, Pakistan has now been added to the list of countries that are frozen by the United States for visa. It turns out to be that all their pampering of the US president didn’t help the nation when it matters.

The freezing of the visa issuance means that people from Pakistan can’t apply for permanent visa in the U.S. while the temporary and student visas remain unaffected. Other Asian countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and others are also amongst the 75 countries that are frozen by the USA.
