Acquiring work permit H1B visa from the United States authorities has become a rarity these days. The kind of regulations and elongated waiting periods that are being enforced by the immigration control authorities has been troubling the Indian community.
And now the latest developments are suggesting that the extreme backlog at the United States, Consulates in India has resulted in delays in H1B visa interview slots and related processing procedures.
Interview dates that were initially scheduled for December 2025 were first pushed to March 2026, then to October 2026, and have since been delayed again into 2027.
This essentially means that there are no new H1B visa interview slots left in India for the entire 2026, leaving the Indian working community, extremely anxious. The existing slots have also been pushed to 2027 while new schedules are also dated back to the second half of the coming year.
This comes shortly after Donald Trump communicated the imposition of 100K dollar fee on H1 B visas and companies contemplating the idea of hiring foreign individuals.
But for whatever reason, the current delay in the processing of H1B Visa would be a part of United States’ elaborate plan to slowdown the issuance of work visas.
