Why KCR’s ‘Dalit Bandhu Scheme’ Is Hot Topic Now

TRS supremo and the chief minister of Telangana, KCR has taken the forthcoming Huzurabad by-elections prestigiously. His recent comments on the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad constituency proves the same.

KCR vowed to allot Rs 2000 crores for implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad constituency alone. This would mean that many Dalit families in the constituency will be receiving Rs 10 lakh financial aide directly from the state government.

Initially, it was stated that Telangana government will pick 10 families from each of the 119 assembly constituencies in the state and give them Rs 10 lakh each through the Dalit Bandhu scheme. Around Rs 1000 crores were allotted for the implementation of this scheme state-wide.

Cut to now, KCR has announced that he would spend Rs 2000 crores on Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad alone and that too just ahead of the by-elections. This really is a strange yet calculated decision from KCR.

It is very much evident that the state government is leaving no stone unturned to win Huzurabad constituency.

We have to wait and see if the Dalit Bandhu scheme will do the trick for TRS in Huzurabad, a constituency largely dominated by Dalit voters. Meanwhile, TRS is yet to announce its candidate for the by-elections.
