Former Health minister Etala Rajender has retained his Huzurabad constituency by winning the by-election with a thumping majority. Etala displayed dominance right from the first round of counting. However in 8th and 11th rounds TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav showed little dominance but the rest of Etala’s show.
Surprisingly, Etala has secured good share of votes in places like Shaalapalli where KCR launched ‘Dalit Bandhu’ scheme and also in places like Veenavanka which is the strong fort of Gellu and TRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy.
At the end of the 20th round of counting, Etala was leading with a majority of 21,015 votes as he secured 1474 votes in this round. With just two rounds remaining and the votes are very marginal, there are absolutely slender chances of TRS candidate Gellu emerging victorious.
Etala secured a total of 96,581 votes at the end of the 20th round while TRS received 75,566 votes.
