Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flown down to Ladakh on Friday morning and this was a sudden and surprise visit. This visit of PM Modi garnered significance considering the current tensions between India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
PM Modi is accompanied by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat while the PM will be meeting the soldiers who were in injured in the clashes with Chinese PLA last month. After pacifying the jawans, PM will be holding a review meeting on the current situation at LAC with army commanders.
Meanwhile the security has been beefed up in Ladakh and Leh in view of PM Modi’s visit. Central forces are deployed in thousands to make sure PM Modi’s visit go smoothly.
Probably by the end of the day, Modi is expected to return to New Delhi.
