Ahead of crucial Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, political equations are changing at a brisk pace. In a blow to opposition Samajwadi Party, Aparna Yadav, daughter-in-law of former CM Mulayam Singh and wife of brother of Akhilesh Yadav, has joined the ruling BJP today in the presence of deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya & BJP State president Swatantra Dev Singh.
“I am very thankful to the BJP. The nation always comes first for me. I admire PM Modi’s work, Aparna Yadav said after joining BJP ahead of UP Assembly polls 2022,” said Aparna Yadav after joining BJP.
In the past, Aparna Yadav has praised the UP government initiatives and leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath. She had also donated ₹11 lakh to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. So, her joining into the BJP has come as no wonder. Aparna Yadav is the wife of Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh’s second wife Sadhana Gupta.
Meanwhile, 9 MLAs including three ministers had resigned from BJP and joined the Samajwadi Party. Akhilesh Yadav. The resignations in BJP began with Swami Prasad Maurya who is a prominent leader in the OBC community. Dara Singh Chauhan and Dharam Singh Saini, key influential leaders in the OBC community, too quit their ministries and joined SP in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav. Going by the prevailing conditions and complex caste equations in UP, it is going to be very challenging for BJP to retain power in the key state.
