The Andhra Pradesh High Court has expressed its deep disappointment on popular social media giant, Twitter. The High Court has taken up the case of abusive posts and comments against Judges and the Judicial system on Twitter.
High Court registrar general’s counsel N. Ashwani Kumar brought an issue to the notice of High Court that the deleted posts can be seen when using virtual private network (VPN) and learning about this, the High Court criticized Twitter.
“If you don’t respect Indian laws and India’s judicial system, you (Twitter) should better shut down your business here,” commented the High Court. “If things continue to be so, we might seize material related to the deleted posts. Don’t force us to involve police in this case and that might bring more trouble to you,” added the High Court.
The court also questioned the CBI regarding the arrest of NRIs who are involved in this case. Directing the CBI to file counter petition by next week, the High Court postponed the case to next Monday.
Back in October 2021, the High Court learned about the abuse on Twitter by ‘Punch’ Prabhakar and this episode turned a sensation back then.
