#UPPolls: Shots Fired At Asaduddin Owaisi’s Car

Banking heavily on the Muslims votes, AIMIM party is contesting the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. As part of the poll campaign, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was near Kanpur and at a toll gate, unidentified people opened fire at him.

Thankfully Owaisi escaped from this attack and was unhurt. Reporting about this incident Owaisi tweeted, “Some time ago my car was fired at Chhijarsi toll gate. 4 rounds fired. There were 3-4 people, all of them ran away and left the weapons there. My car got punctured, but I got out in another car and left. We are all safe. Alhamdu’lilah.”

Owaisi also shared a picture of the car and we see bullets piercing through the steel doors and glass. This is unacceptable though the law & order situation of UP constantly makes it to the headlines. But during elections, it is the responsibility of the Election Commission and police department to provide security for politicians.

UP will go for voting on February 14th.
