Famous Kuchipudi guru Munukuntla Sambasiva passed away in Hyderabad on Friday due to COVID-19. Sambasiva was 60 years old and he tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
Munukuntla Sambasiva trained many dancers at his Nishumbita Natya Jnanapeet at Koti Esamiya Bazar Hyderabad and wrote many books on dance like Natyamanjari, Gateway to Kuchipudi, Hasthabhinayam and Kuchipudi Natyamitram.
Sambasiva was a disciple of the famous Padma Bhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam. Sambasiva’s research works have been a great learning material for classical dance students and researchers.
