The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board has decided to do away with private food points and restaurants in Tirumala. All devotees reaching Tirumala to offer prayers to the Lord would be provided Anna Prasadam,
Anna Prasadam kiosks would be set up at all major junctions in Tirumala to provide free food to the devotees.
Addressing mediapersons, TTD Board chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy said that they want to ensure that food is free for all the pilgrims in the holy abode of Lord Balaji.
Once it is ensured that all the devotees are able to get free food, the licenses of private eateries and restaurants would be cancelled, he said.
Every pilgrim, from a common devotee to even VIPs, will be served Srivari Prasadam prepared in the TTD kitchen, he said.
To compensate the private eateries owners, the TTD would issue licenses to run other enterprises, Subba Reddy said.
The TTD chairman said that the Devasthanam would soon resume all Arjitha Sevas and darshans, including the Divya Darshan, which had been halted since March 2020 following the outbreak of the pandemic. “The temple management has decided to resume the services as the pandemic is easing and the central and state governments have given nod for getting back to old routines” he said.
The TTD board has also decided to construct Sri Padmavati Childrens’ Super Specialty hospital as advised by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at a cost of Rs 230 crore, the foundation for which would be laid by the CM.
The trust board also resolved to lease out the Padmavati Nilayam near Tiruchanoor to the state government to enable it set up the collectorate complex of Sri Balaji district on the premises.
The Board also resolved to sign an MoU with Nedcap with regard to the supply of solar power steam system for a period of 25 years at Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasadam Bhavan for the preparation of Anna Prasadam.
