AP govt to sell movie tickets from April

The Andhra Pradesh government’s efforts to launch an online booking portal for movie tickets have reached final stages. From the media reports we hear that the AP government will be initiating the online ticket booking facility from April.

In order to give the audience a comfort to book tickets from a single platform, the AP government initiated the ticket booking portal. Accordingly the state government has invited tenders and one of the leading ticket booking portals, Just Tickets stood at L-1 position in the tenders so far. Most likely Just Tickets would bag the tender.

The AP government will ease the customers from the internet charges being imposed by private ticket booking operators and the government run portals will sell ticket prices at much lower prices. This way the state government wants to eradicate the black ticket mafia in the state.

The mechanism of this web portal is that the state government will dispense the revenue generated through selling tickets to the film distributors, exhibitors and producers. Yet there are a few myths surrounding this model and we have to see how the state government will clarify diversifying the revenues.

The media reports claim that Just Tickets will begin their operations in AP in April second or third week.
