In his first reaction to YS Sharmila’s party, YSRTP, TRS Working President KTR took a swipe at her. “Sharmila might have had some differences with her brother Jagan and, upset and angered by him, she entered politics. Strangely, she is doing politics in Telangana instead of AP and against her brother,” said KTR in an interview.
Reacting to KTR’s jibe, Sharmila denied differences between her and Jagan. “Yes, I have basic common sense that if I and my brother were not in talking terms, I would have floated a political party in AP. But that’s not true and so I established my YSRTP here in Telangana,” said Sharmila.
Revealing the reason for floating YSRTP, Sharmila added that KTR’s father KCR is the one who influenced her to launch the party. “As an agitator KCR promised to transform Telangana into ‘Bangaru Telangana’ in a separate state. KCR totally failed to change the lives of the poor and farmers. Telangana is reeling with debts, farmers suicides and many more issues. KCR amassed huge wealth redesigning irrigation projects,” alleged Sharmila.
Earlier, in his latest viral interview with a TV channel, Telangana minister KTR made a few sharp comments on YS Sharmila, sister of AP CM YS Jagan. KTR said that Sharmila floated her political party in Telangana as she was angry with her brother.
“Who is Sharmila? What is she doing here (in Telangana)? If she is angry with her brother, she should settle the issue in Andhra Pradesh not Telangana. What’s the use of her party in Telangana. Does she have any emotional connection with Telangana?,” said KTR.
KTR went on to say that Sharmila’s father and erstwhile AP CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy was vehemently against separate Telangana till his last breath. “People of Telangana are not ready to believe Sharmila’s claims that she is a proud daughter of our soil. People like Sharmila and RS Praveen Kumar spend their entire day abusing KCR,” he added.
Telangana politics are highly revolving around TRS, BJP and Congress. Sharmila is banking heavily on YSR’s sympathisers and followers. She is carrying the party entirely in YSR’s charishma and not sure will she win the confidence of people and fetch votes.
Meanwhile Sharmila’s Paadayatra is moving ahead in Khammam’s Bhadrachalam and she hopes to gain here where large numbers of YSR’s sympathisers are present.
