TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s tour of Kuppam has turned the atmosphere tense. Chandrababu was supposed to inaugurate the Anna Canteen this morning but the ruling party played spoilsport. The local YCP leaders attacked the Anna Canteen and tore the banners of TDP leaders.
Sensing the tense situation, the police entered the scene. An unannounced curfew is imposed in Kuppam with police taking control. RTC buses were restricted to bus depots while all the shops and schools were forced to shut down the doors. Police also prevented both TDP and YSRCP activists from entering Kuppam.
However, local TDP activists protested against YCP’s violent act and then a clash occurred. The police held a lathicharge. Chandrababu Naidu was angered by YCP leaders’ act of attacking the new Anna Canteen and staged a protest by sitting on the road.
Speaking on this occasion Chandrababu warned AP CM Jagan. “I have seen many governments and politicians but none like Jagan. The Chief Minister and YCP leaders are behaving like goons. It is unfortunate that the police are acting as per the instructions of the ruling party. We have 60 lakh karyakathas but we are not resorting to violent acts,” said Chandrababu.
The TDP chief is on a three days tour of Kuppam and the second day has really spiked the political heat.
