No Tolerance: Jagan Can’t Be Permanent President Of YSRC

The Election Commission of India rejected the proposal of appointing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the permanent president. The ECI clearly stated its rejection and no tolerance regarding the same. The ECI expressed disapproval of any attempt or a hint of any organizational post in the party translated to being permanent.

Reacting to the media reports about appointing YS Jagan as permanent president of YSRC, the ECI wrote, ‘The Commission after considering all the above materials, has ordered that Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party be directed to conclude the internal inquiry at the earliest and make a clear and categorical public announcement contradicting the said media reports.’

The statement and demand for clarification by the ECI also note that any action which denies the periodicity of elections is anti-democratic and in complete violation of the election body’s instructions.

The YSRC party also acknowledged the ECI statement and said they have launched an internal inquiry on the matter that came up in the media.
