NTR Name Removal Is Small Thing: Lakshmi Parvathi

The removal of NTR’s name to Health University controversy hasn’t settled yet. The Nandamuri family is seriously disappointed with the YCP government and here comes the much awaited response from Lakshmi Parvathi.

In her first reaction Lashmi Parvathi opined that removal of NTR’s name is a small thing. “When CM Jagan renamed Krishna district after NTR, none from the Nara and Nandamuri family welcomed or appreciated Jagan. Now these people are criticising Jagan only for politics,” said Lakshmi Parvathi.

Defending CM Jagan, Lakshmi Parvathi said, “Jagan issued a clarification regarding name change and it is totally justified. YSR has done a lot of service to the people before stepping into politics. Now the YCP government is establishing many medical colleges across AP. YSR was the creator for AarogyaSri and many other health welfare schemes. Jagan’s arguments are totally convincing.”

“If CM Jagan had placed two options before me i.e, NTR’s name to district and NTR’s name to Health University, I would have picked up NTR’s name to district. Because Vijayawada city has a long history and the district is a bigger place compared to university,” said Lakshmi Parvathi.

On Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad’s resignation, Lakshmi Parvathi added that it was Yarlagadda who disclosed that Chandrababu Naidu had written to then PM Vajpayee to not honour NTR with Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award.

The Telugu Akademi chairman further said that she would meet CM Jagan very soon and request him to name any mega project after NTR’s name.

Lakshmi Parvathi also lashed out at Chandrababu Naidu, Nandamuri family members, Eenadu’s Ramoji Rao and ABN Radha Krishna. “In the last three days, Eenadu and Radha Krishna are writing a lot about my silence. But the fact is, it was Chandrababu and Nandamuri family members who insulted and shamed NTR. The betrayal led to NTR’s death,” said Lakshmi Parvathi.

The YCP leader also commented on Jr NTR. “In recent Chandrababu Naidu’s Kuppam visit, many leaders expressed their opinion on Jr NTR and the TDP cadre wants his re-entry. But this would damage the chances of Lokesh and so Chandrababu is playing pity politics. Jr NTR was forced and pressured to comment on his grandfather’s name removal. He was dignified with his response,” stated Lakshmi Parvathi.

Overall, Lakshmi Parvathi defended the YCP government and CM Jagan confidently to tackle the criticism pouring from TDP and within media circles.
