Hyderabad private hospitals have earned a bad name for over charging patients and their families for Corona treatment. Some hospitals have billed the patients with Lakhs of Rupees and on payment failure, these hospitals refused to give the corpse to the victim families. These incidents have brought a shame.
The Telangana government has received over 1200 complaints in private hospitals but the government took action against only two hospitals while the looting is going on. Now this issue has gone into the notice of the Centre.
Hyderabad based activist Vijay Gopal has complained against three private hospitals i.e Yashoda, Care and Medicover hospitals for charging a bomb for Corona treatment. Regarding the same the activist has mailed to National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) with evidence of bills that includes private hospitals quoting tablet prices at high compared to the MRP ones.
In response to the activist mail, the NPPA has reacted seriously and served notices to the private hospitals and asked them to reply in 15 days time. NPPA has informed the same to the State’s Drug Administration Control director too.
Activist Vijay Gopal hoped that the NPPA will do justice to the victims and these private hospitals will be taught a lesson.
