BJP Wants To Be On Winning Horse’s Side In AP

The Assembly elections are two years away, but the political parties have heightened their activity. Each party is resorting to its own ways to understand the pulse of people.

The BJP is trying to gain a foothold in the Southern states for a while. However the progress is not as expected and this time, the national party is focusing more on Andhra Pradesh. With ample time left before elections and for alliances, the BJP is getting a survey done to gain knowledge about the people’s opinion on the governance of Chief Minister YS Jagan.

TDP Chief Chandrababu meeting Janasenani Pawan Kalyan after the latter’s ‘chappal’ comment, it has become unofficially evident that the alliance is happening. Though BJP claims to be walking with Janasena hand in hand, the events happening are hinting otherwise, in fact strongly. Also, BJP made it clear that it would not have an alliance with the TDP.

So, the political party bigwigs are keen on this said survey results to get clarity on their next move. It is learned that BJP is putting its best efforts into this survey they can weigh the options between alliance with the TDP-JS or staying put. If the survey result shows the edge for the YCP government in AP over the opposition, BJP might not support TDP-JS alliance. If the opposition scores well in the survey, BJP might look to join forces with TDP-JS. In a clever move for existence in the state, the BJP is making sure it stays on the side of the winning horse.

So, the survey results have become crucial and this is just one of the initial pawns moved by the BJP to gain some reach in AP. It has to be seen how things progress in the next few months.
