A day after TRS minister Gangula Kamalakar’s properties were searched by the Enforcement Directorate, here are the fresh raids of ED at TRS Rajya Sabha MP Ravi Chandra Vaddiraju who is popular as Gayatri Ravi who is the promoter of Gayatri granites. ED raids are being conducted at Ravi’s office in Sri Nagar colony.
Gangula Kamalakar’s properties were raided yesterday as part of a money laundering probe related to alleged granite scam. Gangula’s family is in Dubai during the ED’s searches at properties. The ED’s raids were conducted in Karimnagar district, adjoining towns and Hyderabad.
CBI has registered an FIR earlier to probe the alleged irregularities in grant trade in Telangana. ED case of money laundering is a follow up to the CBI’s FIR on granite scam in the state.
ED raids are going on currently at Gayatri Ravi’s offices. TRS leaders allege that the Centre has intensified the raids on TRS leaders after the farmhouse case where BJP allegedly tried to buy 3 of TRS MLAs and were allegedly caught on camera.
TRS and BJP’s political one upmanship has intensified. In the Munugode by-election, TRS won against BJP. By-election was facilitated after Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy resigned from Congress and joined BJP. TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy won by over 10,000 votes.
