The public in Andhra Pradesh is disillusioned by the development about which various political parties have been promising since the bifurcation of the state. When asked about what would they like to describe about the state, the people replied in a dispassionate manner, apparently losing hope of a flourishing and prospering state.
Several intellectuals said that they were disheartened to view the state being divided into three parts in the name of regional and caste lines. The various meetings held by the political parties during the last few days add strength to their remarks.
Recently, the YCP leaders organised Visakha Garjana in Vizag in support of the three-capital proposal. Two days ago, another meeting “Seema Garjana” was held in Kurnool. In the last few months, several meetings were conducted by communities belonging to various castes, to show the strength of their communities.
The political parties have been stoking regional and caste feelings among the people for political gains. It is likely that the rift could deepen by the next elections, political analysts warned.
During the 2019 elections, development was buzz word but this time, it has taken a backseat and castes and regions have gained prominence.
