It looks like Modi’s magic is still working in Gujarat. Initial reports have stated that BJP is leading in Gujarat with 152 seats ahead, while INC leading in only 18, and AAP 7. It is also heard that BJP shall secure its safe haven in Gujarat regardless of the strong competition.
As the results seem to be obvious, we have tried to check the track record of BJP win in Gujarat since 1985. It is as follows.
1985 – 11
1990 – 67
1995 – 121
1998 – 117
2002- 127
2007 – 117
2012 – 115
2017 – 99
2023 – 150 +
The highest mark was in 2002 when Modi stood as the Chief Minister candidate, which actually got 127 and nearly after two decades, BJP broke its own record and registered 152 (while publishing the article) seats in Gujarat. This utterly monstrous victory and it looks like Modi’s magic is still working on the people of Gujarat.
Needless to say, he himself got down to campaign for the assembly election and was met with huge reception on the streets of Gujarat.
