Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to review the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam on Monday. In the wake of this meeting, there is a buzz in political circles that the YCP government is gearing up for the early polls.
Reacting on this, former minister Perni Nani said that there was no truth in the rumours. Assembly elections will be held only after March next year. When asked if there was any truth in TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu’s claim that many YCP MLAs were in touch with him, Nani said: “Then ask him to do ‘samsaram’ with them. Are we stopping them?”
He clarified: “The YCP had asked the party MLAs to go to the public and mingle with them a year ago. They will continue do that till the Assembly elections notification is released and there is no doubt about it. The MLAs were asked to establish a ‘connect’ with the voters and they are on the task.”
He said that all the rumours about early polls were being raised by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu only to make his party men swing into action. Naidu himself said that the party workers were in an inferior grade and he himself had been complaining that they have not been actively participating in the party programmes. Just to make the party activists active, Naidu himself is planting such rumours,” Nani alleged.
When asked if the ministers are fearing removal from the Cabinet, Nani said that such rumours were being publicized only to gain TRP rating and garner more views. Such fancy and sensational news is being created only for that purpose. There is no truth in rejig of the Cabinet, he said.
