Jagan To Announce Candidates Six Months In Advance

AP CM YS Jagan Reddy is feeling the heat of anti-incumbency post the MLC elections. Subsequently, CM Jagan has launched a series of initiatives to take the YCP government’s work to the public. But there are mixed reactions from all over and CM Jagan has knowledge of the same. Having noticed this, CM Jagan has come up with a strategy that Telangana CM KCR had done before.

Well, the strategy is the YCP chief is likely to announce the names of candidates who will be contesting the general elections at least six months in advance. Within the YCP, there is a discussion on this as well while a few leaders said that CM Jagan is ready with the list and will announce it at an appropriate time. Jagan’s strategy is to announce candidates before other parties and gain control over the constituencies.

If the list of candidates is released in June, Jagan thinks that there is a possibility of 6 to 8 months for the elections. Jagan plans to announce candidates’ names in two phases and in the first list, 60 to 80 names will be finalized and the rest will be done in the second phase.

Meanwhile, there is a rumour that about 40 percent of the 151 MLAs in the YCP will not get a ticket in the upcoming elections. There is already a debate going on that CM YS Jagan has sidelined 60 MLAs who did not perform up to the mark or live up to the expectations of the YCP chief.

MLAs who received information that they will not get tickets in the next poll, have gone silent. The rest want to wait for some time and are likely to look for alternatives and MLAs who have credible info that they will be set aside are contacting Telugu Desam and Jana Sena.

Recently three MLAs turned rebels because they got to know that CM Jagan is considering alternatives in the respective constituencies. As a result the three MLAs indulged in cross-voting in the recent MLC polls. On other hand people and YCP cadre are not ready to believe MLAs who have said that their heart beats for CM Jagan and would support him no matter what.

Simultaneously those MLAs who have doubts that they will not get the tickets are planning to contest from other parties if they get a chance, else they are planning to defeat their own party’s candidates.

Jagan is looking at this experimental strategy as it would give him an understanding of his party leaders’ mood and their loyalty towards him.
