Union home Minister Amit Shah has been maintaining an active presence in this South Indian political scene as he had been focussing on developing the BJP in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Today, Amit Shah came to Hyderabad to participate in a walkathon and he had a set of strong words against CM Revanth Reddy as well.
Amit Shah appeared to be concerned about the fight that is being put up by Rahul Gandhi against the irregularities in the election commission operations.
“Rahul ji, if EVMs are faulty, how did your Revanth Reddy become Chief Minister? How did your government come to power in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh? If EVMs are so bad, you should not have taken the oath of office.” Amit Shah said, as he pointed out that Telangana was captured by the Congress using the very same EVMs which Rahul says are faulty.
“When you win, the credit goes to the people, but when you lose, you blame the EVMs. I challenge you today from the land of Hyderabad. We are ready to convene a special session of Parliament. Come and participate in a discussion.” He added.
It appears that the BJP leadership is clearly concerned about the voice that is being raised by Rahul Gandhi against the EVMs and also the election commission procedures. This could be one of the main reasons why Amit Shah set foot in Telangana and discussed this range of topics.
This visit from Amit Shah comes just a day after Rahul Gandhi had held a massive public campaign in Delhi against the election commission chief Gyanesh Kumar, which drew lakhs of people.
