The other day former MP JC Diwakar Reddy raked up the topic or shall we say the demand of ‘Rayala Telangana.’ At a protest for Rayalaseema rights, JC added that two districts of Rayalaseema should be merged with Telangana or Greater Rayalaseema should be formed. The seasoned politician went on to say that Telangana leaders especially Telangana CM KCR is okay with Rayala Telangana proposal.
There are opposite reactions from the BRS party. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav commented that leaders who need publicity make such statements. “JC Diwakar Reddy belongs to Telugu Desam and so the party chief should say his opinion on Rayala Telangana,” added Talasani. Another BRS minister opined that Andhra politicians failed to develop the state and so such demands are coming out.
“The politicians and people in government should be blamed for such demands because they were unable to provide better governance and live up to the expectations of the common man. People are looking at Telangana and BRS party and it’s KCR who deserves the credit. I believe that Andhra people may want KCR’s leadership in their state,” said minister Jagadish Reddy and he reiterated that there is absolutely no possibility of merging Rayalaseema with Telangana.
Rayala Telangana was never a demand but it was just a proposal. The Sri Krishna committee proposed Rayala Telangana yet it added that it would have consequences.
