The COVID pandemic pushed many into financial crisis due to their earnings going from good to little and to nothing. While the film industry is among the fields that were most affected, a theater operator in Hyderabad died by suicide.
52-year-old Bhaskar was a theater operator at Imax and he committed suicide as he was told that he won’t be getting any salary from next month.
Since lockdown, Bhaskar was getting only half a salary and as the theaters remained closed, the management decided to deal with the losses by cutting down the complete salary of many employees.
It is sad to hear this though we may not really know Bhaskar, but he must have been the operator for the movies we watched and enjoyed at Imax theaters.
