Refuting report in a leading English daily that political consultant Prashant Kishor is likely to get closer to TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, political sources said that he is still associated with the ruling YCP.
The report also said that Prashant Kishor, founder of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), one of the most reliable and acclaimed election strategist in the nation, was persuaded by Trinamul Congress (TMC) chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to help her old friend, Chandrababu Naidu.
The talks between the TDP and PK, according to the report, are in the final stage and are likely to bear fruit in the near future. However, political sources close to the ruling party said there was no truth in the speculation. PK is very much with the YCP and his team is working closely with the party leaders and cadre to ensure YCP boss and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s victory in the 2024 elections, they said.
Further, the report in the English daily also mentioned that Didi (Mamata Banerjee) took special interest in making PK and the TDP get close only because she wants to see the TDP chief in the I.N.D.I.A, the alliance of the non-BJP parties.
However, Naidu is not keen in joining the I.N.D.I.A because he wants to get along with the BJP-led NDA at the Centre. The Jana Sena, though having an alliance with the BJP, is interested in bringing the TDP to power in Andhra Pradesh, pointed out a YCP leader.
It has to be seen how the political equations would keep changing in the days to come, as the situation gets volatile ahead of the crucial Assembly and general elections.
