Kodali Clarifies ‘Pakodi Gallu’ Comment On Chiru

In a recent incident, Megastar Chiranjeevi called upon the leaders of the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh to focus their attention on crucial state matters, such as the demand for Special Status, rather than targeting the film industry for trivial reasons. Chiranjeevi’s remarks garnered mixed reactions, particularly from the YSRCP, with former minister Kodali Nani swiftly responding to Chiranjeevi’s comments and sparking a back-and-forth exchange.

Kodali Nani’s original response was, “There are individuals in the industry who lack acting and dancing skills, and Chiru should offer them advice as well,” wherein he used the phrase ‘Pakodi Gallu’ (loosely translated to “snack sellers”). This retort faced backlash from fans of Chiranjeevi, who criticized Kodali Nani for using disrespectful language towards the esteemed actor.

Today, during the celebration of Megastar’s birthday in his own constituency, Kodali Nani attempted to clarify his ‘Pakodi Gallu’ statement. He clarified, “Chiranjeevi is a highly respected figure, and I did not intend to criticize him. He did share his thoughts on the Special Status and other pertinent issues, urging the state government to address them. We will certainly take his suggestions into account.” Kodali Nani also mentioned that Chiranjeevi should also consider offering guidance to those within the film industry who lack the necessary acting and dancing skills yet continue to make films.

Acknowledging that a significant portion of his supporters are Chiranjeevi’s fans, Kodali Nani expressed his regret that his comments were misinterpreted by some TDP (Telugu Desam Party) affiliates, leading to a propaganda campaign against him. He further lamented that Jana Sena Party members fell into the trap of the TDP’s narrative and started targeting him as a result. Kodali Nani invited Megastar’s fans to watch the entire video of his comments to fully grasp his intention before passing judgment.

While maintaining his characteristic straightforward style, Kodali Nani made it clear that he does hold respect for Chiranjeevi. Despite not showing remorse for his choice of strong language, he aimed to dispel any misconceptions surrounding his initial statement and reaffirmed his regard for the Megastar.
