After mulling for a long time, Andhra Pradesh BJP concluded that going along with TDP-JSP alliance is the best way forward for the party in the 2024 AP elections. But AP BJP vice president Vishnu Vardhan Reddy announced this impractical demand where he said his party will consider joining the alliance only if they are given 75 MLA tickets and 12 MP tickets. In reality, BJP won 0 MLA/MP seats in 2019.
But the new reports are claiming that BJP has gotten a reality check perhaps from Chandra Babu Naidu. The party has come down on its expectations and is in the bracket of 9 MLA tickets and 5 MP tickets as of now. This change should have come after AP BJP came in touch with Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu Naidu to discuss the alliance possibility.
Naidu, being a seasoned politician should have conveyed the message in a crystal manner to BJP regarding the seat sharing. So, BJP has practically gone from 75 MLA/12 MP seats to 9 MLA/5 MP seats. This is a more rational proposal. AP BJP is meeting its core cadre today and will take the call on the seat-sharing proposal. TDP could now look to settle around the number quoted by the BJP and go ahead with the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance.
The alliance parties of 2014 elections are staging a comeback now and are preparing to take on their joint opponent from a decade ago, Jagan Mohan Reddy. Will 2024 repeat itself with the alliance victory or will Jagan take revenge on the three of them together in 2024?
