YSRCP MP Lavu Meets Lokesh. What’s Up?

Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayulu has met TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh. According to reports, Lavu is all set to switch his loyalties to the TDP. He is going to formally join the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP on 22nd January. This is a huge setback to the ruling party.

For the past few weeks, there is a confusion in YSRCP over Lavu’s contest from Narasaraopet parliament. Lavu himself opened up about it and said CM Jagan asked him to contest from Guntur parliament but he said he has gently turned down the change.

Lavu had said he had worked in Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency for the last 4 years and there are some pending works to be done. He said he would like to re-contest from Narasaraopet and complete the balance works in the next term.

YCP is also upset with Lavu over his public comments and giving media leak over an internal meeting with CM Jagan. This led to Ambati Rayudu, aspirant of Guntur Lok Sabha seat from YCP, quitting the party within a week of joining.

Recently, Machilipatnam MP Balashowry, Kurnool MP Sanjeev Kumar have resigned from YSRCP. Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy is reportedly quitting YCP and he is holding talks with TDP. Several MLAs too have quit the ruling YCP. It is strongly buzzed that many others are in the pipeline. Overall, it is a jolt for Jagan and coterie.
