Sharmila’s Master Move With Soubhagyamma?

Slain Congress leader Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s wife Soubhagyamma would contest the 2024 polls but there is no confirmation if she would contest as Kadapa MP or Pulivendula MLA.

According to the scuttlebutt, Viveka’s daughter Sunitha and late YSR daughter Y.S. Sharmila have decided to field Soubhagyamma in the fray, during their recent meeting. Sharmila and Sunita held discussion for nearly two hours at Idupulapaya. They have a common enemy in Jagan Mohan Reddy. While Sunitha is angry with Jagan over her father’s murder, Sharmila is peeved over Jagan’s neglect towards his family.

Both the women have been targeting Jagan and Soubhagyamma’s entry into politics is their ploy to quench their vengeance against him. It is a known secret that nobody would win the Kadapa MP and Pulivendula MLA seat except the YCP. Hence, both the sisters have decided to garner the support of the TDP and JS for Soubhagyamma who would contest on a Congress ticket, against Jagna’s party man.

This means that Congress candidates would contest against the YCP candidates, drawing support from the TDP and Congress.

At the same time, the TDP and Jana Sena support to the Congress might be conditional, basing on the candidate fielded in the specific constituencies. The TDP and JS might not extend support to the Congress unconditionally and hence, candidates from the YSR family should get into the fray.

Soubhagyamma is being fielded to gain sympathy votes. However, there is no clarity if she would be an MP candidate or an MLA candidate.

According to majority chance, Avinash Reddy would be fielded as Kadapa MP and hence the sisters have decided to make Soubhagyamma the MP candidate on Congress ticket.
