After wrapping the assembly elections two months prior, Telangana is bracing for Lok Sabha elections. The ruling party Congress will naturally have an edge in the MP elections but what is the situation with other parties like BJP and BRS? Times Now Matrizes Opinion Poll has given a glimpse of the situation.
According to the Times Now Matrizes Opinion Poll, BRS is weaker than BJP in Telangana. Here are the numbers presented by the agency.
Times Now Matrizes Telangana Opinion Poll 2024
INC: 09
BJP: 05
BRS: 02
MIM: 01
BRS won 9 MP seats in 2019 and lost 1 of those 9 MPs this week as MP Venkatesh Netha left the party to join Congress. While BRS is trying to retain at least 8 MP seats, the opinion polls from Times Now Matrizes speaks against it. Getting down to just 2 MP seats will be a disastrous verdict for BRS, commented an analyst.
But we can’t expect BRS to give up the fight so easily. KCR has called for a huge public meeting in Nalgonda on February 13th and he is likely to hold many such public meetings in the next few weeks before the Lok Sabha elections. KCR could do everything in his power to make sure that BRS gains back some of the lost energy in the Lok Sabha elections.
Congress, on the flip side, under Revanth Reddy’s leadership is determined to sweep the MP polls. BJP too is looking to fare better in Lok Sabha elections. So BRS won’t have it easy to post better figures in the MP polls than what it did in assembly polls.
