KCR is slowly and steadily getting back to the political groove after recovering from the hip surgery. He interacted with BRS parliamentary leaders at Telangana Bhavan and analysed the reason why the party lost in the assembly elections and instructed the cadre about the strategy that is to be followed in the fast-approaching Lok Sabha polls.
KCR stated “After looking at the mandate, we can understand that the anti-incumbency was factored locally and not on the BRS government. The voters were dissatisfied with a certain group of MLAs that we fielded and that is why we lost. The voters were against these local MLAs but wanted KCR to continue as the CM. This local anti-incumbency cost us heavily. but nevertheless, winning and losing is a part and parcel of politics” KCR said as he identified candidate selection as the reason behind BRS’s loss.
Earlier, there was an internal talk in political circuits that KTR and other BRS leaders advised KCR about changing candidates to counter anti-incumbency but KCR was adamant about it. Finally, after the election result is out, KCR seems to have assessed and found out what went wrong.
The BRS head predicted that Congress has lost the public’s trust already in just three months and the coming parliamentary elections will witness a fight only between BRS and BJP.
