The government of India started the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and there have been objections from different sections of society. Many opposition parties also voiced their opinions against the government. The Tamil actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Thalapathy Vijay is the latest to join the list.
In a statement posted on X, Vijay expressed his strong disapproval of the CAA’s implementation, emphasizing that such a law is unacceptable in an environment where social harmony among all citizens prevails.
“The Tamil Nadu government must take measures to prevent the enforcement of the CAA within the state. It is very important that the political leaders ensure that the law does not take effect in Tamil Nadu, and we must protect the interests and rights of all citizens,” stated Vijay.
Vijay has confirmed that he will not be taking part in the Loksabha polls but would be contesting in the Assembly elections that will take place in Tamilnadu, after 2 years.
