At one point, there were political theories that Pawan Kalyan might contemplate the idea of contesting from Tirupati assembly constituency considering the saturation of the Balija population here and their loyalty to the Chiranjeevi family. But Pawan Kalyan has dropped a clear indication that he is against the idea as he has reportedly finalized the candidate for Tirupati.
Arani Srinivasulu who served as Chittoor YCP MLA after winning the 2019 polls, got dejected after Jagan rejected him the ticket in 2024. He then left YCP to join Janasena and quickly secured a comfortable position in the party.
In a recent meeting with Janasena local leadership, Pawan Kalyan reportedly advised Srinivasulu to work on his election campaigning in Tirupati and nearly confirmed his candidacy from here. The party could be announcing Srinivasulu’s candidacy from Tirupati in the next few days, as a part of the second list announcement.
Srinivasulu contested from Chittoor on PRP ticket in 2009 and narrowly lost. He managed to win on YCP ticket in 2019 and has now moved to JSP. Considering the caste equations, the ex-MLA from YCP is one the verge of becoming Janasena’s candidate in Tirupati.
