The first major cabinet meeting commenced in Andhra Pradesh and it was chaired by CM Chandrababu Naidu. Considering the nature of the reformative approach taken by the new CM, several high-priority files came into discussion today and as many as 6 major decisions pertaining to the same were taken.
The first file approved by the cabinet was presented by Nara Lokesh and it is regarding the process of filling up 16,347 posts through Mega DSC. The second approval is for the scrapping of the Land Titling Act which was presented by the YCP government.
The third and possibly the most relevant file is regarding the pensions. It is approved by the cabinet that eligible pensioners will get Rs 4000/month instead of the existing Rs 3000/month. For month of July, the pension will be Rs 7000, in view of Naidu’s pre-poll promise that the arrear amount of Rs 1000/month from April to July will be provided at once.
The fourth approval is regarding the resumption of Anna Canteen service across Andhra Pradesh. This mid-day meal service will be opened in a full-fledged manner in under 100 days. Apart from that, there will be a first-of-its-kind skill census in AP to identify the unique skills of the unemployed youth and train them in relevant sectors.
The sixth approval is that of the change of the name of YSR University in Vijayawada back to NTR University.
